Here we are, the last few days before Christmas and I’ve managed to finish one blanket (almost, it needs to be blocked)
And the second blanket, believe it or not is working up fast.
I have 39 rows left to go, after I will make the eyes, ears, and nose. I’m not panicking at all *eye twitch*.
Yesterday morning folks, I was panicking. Christmas presents that had been ordered in November had been lost in transition some, then reordered and sent free of charge (thank you amazon), and arrived safely around 1 pm yesterday.
The real gift that has been happening here is the gift of snow
Half of us think so anyway, the rest of the household wants to pack up and move south. I will take snow over any other types of whether thank you very much, I’ve done the tornado bit and I’m not interested in returning to any place where it’s a common occurrence. Beautiful as the South was, I’m a northern girl and in the north where the snow flys is where I shall remain.
Have a nice day folks!
Monday has been put on the back burner, I am taking the day off from life to work on Christmas presents during the daylight hours.
After my post about trying to find the perfect present for my Minecraft loving 8 year old boy, I came across these pistachio fudge Caron cakes (naturally) and alas, a blanket was born
It is about 47″ tall and after I finish my C2C decreases, I will be adding a boarder. I want this present to last a long time and while a 8 year old who is almost taller than is soon to be 11 year old sister, that is going to be hard.
I am also trying to finish this order today
Fringe is not my friend folks, it takes longer than crocheting the actual project itself.
While I sit and work on these things however my mind is elsewhere, you see we have had just a tease of snow here and it melted as quickly as it came. I am sitting here on my couch, but my mind is sitting in front of a fire on a snowy day, with my spinning wheel, spinning up all kinds of creations.
A few months ago I went to a sheep workshop and met many wonderful and knowledgeable people. Two people I met were a father and daughter, they raise Shetland sheep and I was extremely surprised to come home one early fall day to a box full of Shetland wool!
I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet, but it looks and feels amazing ❤️
If you are interested in purchasing some lovely Shetland wool, you can find this fabulous folks here Abdali Farms Langdon, you won’t be disappointed!
Have a great week folks!
