Short and sweet

I'm quiet I know, in the summer the farm is my full time job. I have little time to do anything crafty and as I have previously mentioned, any crafting I have done cannot be showed until after my best friends bachelorette party. With the exception of this hat I made last week

I can show you farming pictures however.

The turkeys are finally outside full time and I'm not sure who is more excited about it. The turkeys or myself as I now have my breezeway back!
Introducing Bacon seed, Blueberry, Bonny, and Bucket head. Delightful names I know lol.
Our newest babies, recently hatched right here on the farm on Tuesday morning. Beauty is one of three hens who have gone broody and the only one to actually hatch out eggs which I got from a friend over in Maine. The other two are out of luck however, I don't have the time to run all over for fertile eggs.

Short I know, but I wanted to check in! I am here, all is well, aside from the exhaustion of 5 am – 10 pm days. Crossing my fingers for some cooler days ahead of us.

Have a great day folks!

11 days

& 2,216 yards of yarn.

Not exactly the best picture, it is indeed finished & has been gifted to the young woman for who it was intended. Not as big as I had intended, I had to run out to get more yarn few times.

….and not just yarn for this current blanket. There was a break in the weather and I was able to head on over to Maine to visit my father…who happens to live exactly a stones throw away from a Joann Fabrics.

And then there was that package from Michaels that resulted in this

I had planned on making each child a blanket but at the last moment Lorelai changed her mind and decided she wanted Caron Cakes lemon lime yarn…which of course I only had two of, so as there was only one day left for the sale and it was snowing outside and you can only get them in packs of three on the website…naturally I ordered 9 skeins…though I may need one more lemon lime and of course, it has been discontinued 😳

Another item recently finished that has also found its new home

I won’t lie, I enjoy the messy bun hat trend going on. They whip up fast and they fund my yarn habit.

Another thing supplying my yarn habit are my little rabbits, who have found a way to escape and torment the chickens     🎵 One of these things is not like the other 🎶

We did have to move the pen to harder ground so they can’t dig out again. It’s not the being out with chickens that worries me, as Carrick frequently free ranged with our birds in the winter. It’s the digging underneath the greenhouse that has me concerned.

Stay inside bunnies!! We have too many predator issues and it’s too cold for Moose to be sleeping outside with you!
Have a nice night folks!

Funk

I’ve been in one of those the last couple of weeks. I’ve been working on orders and more. I love Christmas but this year it has exhausted me. When I do dream at night, I dream about being exhausted.

We have had lots of snow and today is no different, we are expecting anywhere between 17″ – 24″ depending on which weather app or news site you look at.

We had a good Christmas and have all been enjoying our gifts, especially myself.

I usually use the refillable cups, but my best friend send me this delicious coffee to go in my birthday cup! Any Gilmore Girls fans here?!

Though I am torn between this beautiful silk my MIL gifted me with

and this set of bags made for us with our farm logo from my Inlaws

Here are a few things I’ve currently finished and one item I had hoped to have finished by now

Yes I jumped on the messy bun hat board, I have four more I need to finish.

This was supposed to be gone forever ago, I now have the legs and arms sewn on. Hoping to get the tail and head sewn on tonight.

Illness and exhaustion has kept me from finishing him. Here’s hoping.

Have a nice night folks!
