Happenings

I'm not saying that summer is coming to an end soon, but the signs of fall are rapidly approaching.

From the leaves changing to the cool weather to the insane amount of acorns everywhere.

We have been harvesting lots of goodies from our garden!

I've actually spent three days away from the farm this week:
We spent a much needed day at the beach

I went with my best friend for her hair and makeup test for her upcoming wedding
(No pics until after the wedding sorry)

Friday was the long awaited craft fair, I didn't have much to offer but my bosom best friend had enough to fill our table

My empty little side

Very thankful that my super talented friend had more to offer.

I am still finishing up items for the bachelorette party that happens THIS weekend! By finishing up items, I mean doing every knitter and crocheters favorite thing…weaving in the ends. I am very excited to share what I have been working on, it really has been a fun project.

Have a great week folks!

An egg an egg

Yes folks, one of the backyard hens, is finally laying eggs! We’ve gotten three so far

We are very happy about this, one more thing to knock off the grocery list and I will tell you I am very grateful for that. We have cut our grocery bill in half this month and my husband no longer cries when he looks at the bank account.

Well after Carricks sad passing last week, Leif decided to try and cheer me up, however not six year olds grasp the concept of death and after trying to explain to him that he could not bring Carrick back to life, we decided to get a new baby for the kids. It’s still hard for me, I miss my rabbit very much, but this new girl has kept my son from his further attempts to recreate Stephan Kings ‘Pet Sematary’.

So introducing Brontë

Who at first was afraid to leave her little house

Then ventured out for some water (this took 24 hours to occur)

She is still skittish, but she ventures out every once in awhile. Brontë is a jersey wooly, the kids are in love with her…I’m still adjusting.

If you happen to peruse Reddit, you may or may not have seen my picture today

We went out to move birds and the sun was rising, one of the pigs sat just at the right moment, I had planned to get a sunset picture from the other side, however I wasn’t able to get away from the stove to capture the moment.

Tomorrow is the craft fair and I’ve added to what I already had in stock, minus the yarn, these are the goodies I have been working on

I also have another hat and several more headbands I’m currently finishing up.

I won’t lie, I’m anxious for the craft fair to be over with because..well I couldn’t help myself the other day

I bought three of those new yarn cakes and I can’t wait to make something pretty with them.

Well folks, my keyboard isn’t happy tonight so I am going to end this here.

Have a great night!!

Craft fair fun

Today was the day of the long awaited craft fair and boy did we have fun! As of last night I had 8 skeins of yarn

Not as many hats as I was hoping to have done, but I didn’t sell them all anyway so I don’t really mind. I also had a few crowns I made over the last couple of days

I finished the scarf for the silent auction and was pleased with the outcome, I found that it worked up fast!!

This was our table before our other friend arrived, we had a good spot, right in front of the food & coffee. We had a steady supply of passerbyers.

These next pictures are courtesy of my best friend who did the craft fair with me, these are items she had made

She did all the chalkboard signs as well.

I sold a crown and two of these hats

I have plenty of items leftover for the next craft fair that happens at the end of the month that my friend and I decided to sign up for on a whim!!
Have a nice night folks!!
