April showers bring May flowers

Unless you live here, and then you get several days of snow. Yes, even though it is warming up (50 yay!!), and the snow and ice are melting (yay again!!), we are still expecting five days worth of snow infact. I’m crossing my fingers that it will all change between now and Saturday when it is supposed to start, as I am seeing four days of 1-3 inches and then a day that says 3-5.

We need sunshine, and grass, and Carrick needs to stretch out his bunny legs.

I started crocheting a hobbes for the newly obsessed Leif, last night I finally finished the first part of the body and realized, I had done a double crochet instead of the single crochet mentioned in the pattern, I don’t think Leif will mind too much, Hobbes will just be a little bigger.

I’ve also gotten more done on the cosplay costume for my friend, it still looks the same lol

This photo sadly does not show off the true color of the yarn, it is actually a gold color. I am almost ready for the next color, I am just waiting for my friend to decide which colors he finds the most fitting.

This past weekend I finished a project and with this project I am going to be sharing a link. I don’t usually share GoFundMe pages on here. Usually I share them on my personal page, but this one is for a dear friend who I attended school with and she was my captain on our cheering squad.

This hat is for her son who was born early at 33 weeks, due to complications of preeclampsia. I share this gofundme for baby Wyatt

Have a nice day folks!

I’ve got sunshine

Yes, the sun has arrived brining warm days (50 yesterday woohoo!!), Snow is melting (though we are getting more this weekend) and we have been able to spend more time outside without umpteen layers of clothing weighing us down.

The green trees on the mountains, are a beautiful sight!

I’ve been working more on the cosplay costume, though I don’t have an updated picture right now, it pretty much looks the same, just a little longer.

With the help of my father inlaw, the case of the “what the heck is wrong with this stuffed bear”, has been solved. There was too much fabric in the legs. This problem has now been fixed and the final part is being sewed up tonight!!!

I have been trying forever to make a granny square, the first one of which I did not take a picture of turned out to be a circle, the second was a bit more…..square-like

The third, with better instructions from a friend

turned out much better. I want to keep practicing and hopefully use up a large chunk of my yarn stash.

I also made a pencil grip this week, Lorelai has been complaining about how her hand works while writing….while I am sure this will only work for a few moments, it was fun to make.

Have a great day folks!!!

Where’d my enthusiasm go?

I don’t know if it is cabin fever, lack of sleep, or perhaps I’m just plain burnt out, but I haven’t knit for more than fifteen minutes in the last two weeks.

I also hadn’t spun as my wheel was out of commission until today, it had started come apart while spinning and it was driving me crazy, the wheel is supposed to come apart for easier transportation, but this was ridiculous. Any who, it is back together once again and hopefully I can start making room on my fiber shelf.

The one thing that I have been working on all of twenty minutes anyway is a sweater for a friend of mine, he participates in cosplay and I offered to knit him a costume, or attempt to anyway because the costume I am making has no pattern. This should prove to be interesting!

The yarn is actually a brighter yellow, however my camera didn’t cooperate and then I decided to edit a bit to achieve the color and well zip.

I’m not going to show you the costume just yet, I want to see if any cosplayers out there can guess what it is!

Have a great day folks!! 41 degrees tomorrow, woo!
