Patience Grasshopper

It’s very hard to wait for things to pass through your system, when it effects your entire body, on good days when my hands don’t hurt I tend to over do it. Which has two results, the first being a baby sweater that went from 3″ to 75% completed (which is amazing considering in my brain fog, I knit the button holes on the wrong side of the sweater, which meant frogging 11 rows and starting again)

The second result is that despite not touching a crochet hook or knitting needle since Thursday, my hands and fingers are swollen & painful. I need to learn to some patience to let it all pass….I should probably stay off of ravelry as well.

So as to not make it worse, Leif is the one who made the homemade gluten free doughnuts this past week

He has also been reading with Hobbes recently

And has moved on to new interests. For the first time in a year, he picked out a book from the library that had nothing to do with minecraft.

More seeds have been started….despite the fact that it looks like Spring and Winter are in cahoots (did we really get 16″ of snow this weekend and do we really have more snow on the way?!)

Along with onions, we now have cabbages and eggplant started and we repotted some high blueberry bush cuttings

Now on to what you’ve all been waiting for, I won’t tease you any longer

The babies have arrived and they are cute

They are all in good health despite arriving a day later than expected.

Lots of noise happening the the breezeway and on warm days I set up a folding chair and sit out there with them so they get used to me.

Have a great week folks!

It’s all good

We are now in the process of putting the greenhouse up on our property, a nice warm home for the animals fix winter.

There are a lot of rocks up here on our part of New England, we should sell them 😉

A lot of digging had to be done to remove said rocks to get the poles in the ground.

After today’s storm, that blew our trampoline away, I’m slightly worried about the greenhouse holding up.

I am excited to announce that I got my Christmas present early this year, something I’ve badly needed.

My old machine..well it was just not working very well for me anymore…nor anyone else who tried to use it. I was able to trade it in for a couple sewing feet!

I had previously borrowed my friend’s ambition essential and fell in love, I’m a happy girl and I’m happy about sales, without which this would not have happened.

I have been working on one special project, I’ve tried a couple times to make this and never finished….nor even gotten as far as I currently am. However I am almost done.

Leif’s birthday is coming up and I am making a life size Hobbes tiger. I am using the pattern from SukiGirl~~ changed just slightly. Using a I hook, HDC instead of SC, 10 in the magic ring for body & head, 8 for legs and arms. I am hoping to have it finished in the next 7 days.
Have a great day folks!

I know why silk yarn is expensive

It’s because it’s hard to ply

I tried so hard not to waste any of it, but after thirty minutes of struggling, I lost about half a foot (finally untangled the part I cut after I finished plying)

14 wpi (wraps per inch), and the yardage is not long, about 47 yards. However I had a one oz roving, so the yardage isn’t surprising.

The ears aren’t sewn on, but I swear they are the same size!!! Leif’s hobbes is finally looking like a tiger, and despite my sudden disinterest in anything to do with yarn this week, (it’s cold again, and I don’t want to remove myself from the confines of heavy blankets.), I will continue until this project is complete.

Yesterday we looked at farms, only two stood out, but alas one was in need of a big upgrade for heating issues, so that leaves us with our front runner (for now, looking at a few more next week). So folks of NH, if this fireplace looks familiar

Congratulations, we are seriously considering making you an offer on your beautiful home (also, I saw a gray dear while walking the property, I’ve never before seen a gray deer!). If this your farm is for sale, and this isn’t it, fear not we are still checking out a few other options before we make our final decision.
Have a nice day folks!!

April showers bring May flowers

Unless you live here, and then you get several days of snow. Yes, even though it is warming up (50 yay!!), and the snow and ice are melting (yay again!!), we are still expecting five days worth of snow infact. I’m crossing my fingers that it will all change between now and Saturday when it is supposed to start, as I am seeing four days of 1-3 inches and then a day that says 3-5.

We need sunshine, and grass, and Carrick needs to stretch out his bunny legs.

I started crocheting a hobbes for the newly obsessed Leif, last night I finally finished the first part of the body and realized, I had done a double crochet instead of the single crochet mentioned in the pattern, I don’t think Leif will mind too much, Hobbes will just be a little bigger.

I’ve also gotten more done on the cosplay costume for my friend, it still looks the same lol

This photo sadly does not show off the true color of the yarn, it is actually a gold color. I am almost ready for the next color, I am just waiting for my friend to decide which colors he finds the most fitting.

This past weekend I finished a project and with this project I am going to be sharing a link. I don’t usually share GoFundMe pages on here. Usually I share them on my personal page, but this one is for a dear friend who I attended school with and she was my captain on our cheering squad.

This hat is for her son who was born early at 33 weeks, due to complications of preeclampsia. I share this gofundme for baby Wyatt

Have a nice day folks!
