This weekend ended with a unexpected visitor of the four legged kind.
We found this cutie wandering down the middle of the road. Now I don’t advice people to just start picking up strays and sticking them in cars with kids, that can be dangerous, but hear me out.
I parked my car on the side of the road and this little fluffy bundle ran up to me and immediately wagging his tail and licking my hand. Once I checked his collar for an address and found nothing but a rabies tag, and then deemed that he was indeed a friendly dog, he was put into the car where he quickly jumped into the back seat and well, as you can see, made himself at home.
Wanting to find his owners ASAP, his picture was taken and posted not only on a few lost and found groups, but also texted and emailed out to neighbors. I think we ended up spending a good 45 minutes driving around, stopping at houses to see if he belonged to anyone.
After no luck, we determined that snowball/snow/Oreo here was in much need of a bath (my car still needs to be vacuumed and possibly sprayed with perfume).
He then spent five hours snuggled up with our little dude
Who was determined that this was now his dog.
Alas, Rohön’s owners called right before bedtime and came to pick up their pup and he was happily reunited with them. As it turns out they live just down the road and it their house happened to be the one I did not stop at, due to the very very long driveway.
While we were sad to see Snowball/Snow/Oreo/Rohön (phew) leave, we were very happy to meet some new friends.
