One more week

I have a one week left before life starts to slow back down and everything becomes “normal” again. I’m ready to get things finished and start other projects that I have been putting off but need to get happen.

We went into negotiations with the chickens & ducks last week & after much squawking, quacking, and clucking, we settled on these terms: we agreed to an extra scoop of feed & all the compost, and in return they up their egg production.

They were going crazy for awhile and then as soon as we started delivering eggs to the local natural food store, they slowed down to a mere 14 chicken eggs and 4-5 duck eggs a day. Not cool. This week however, after meeting their terms our numbers are up! 18-20 chicken eggs and 6 duck eggs each day!! Though that’s not a great number to be coming from 50+ birds, it’s better than what it has been!

The snow to grass ratio is 60/40, Spring is headed here quickly which means, gardens, baby animals, and campfires. It also means the NH Sheep and Wool festival!

We ordered more trees yesterday, along with strawberry plants & blueberry bushes, we won’t see any fruit this year but I am looking forward to seeing what we get in the years to come!

I haven’t done much this week, I crocheted two hats and I am currently finishing up my nieces birthday present

Pictures of the present will have to wait, but I assure you it is fun!

Until next time, have a good week folks!!
